Next monthly meeting on 17th of August - starting at 2pm

This meeting at the Irish Centre will be a games’ session. After the Chair’s address there will be a few games of Beetle (do bring a pen or pencil) and a picture puzzle and then you are free to play the games you will have brought. So, dust down the dominoes, scrub up the Scrabble tiles, root out the rummikubs /chess/playing cards/draughts etc and enjoy the remaining hour or so.

Refreshments as in July will be available for £2. Please bring the exact money, preferably in 50p/ £1 or £2 coins.

We look forward to seeing many of you there. The 11, 27 and 76 buses go nearby on Brook Lane and Hollybank Road respectively. Ring and ride are now operating too. There is plenty of car parking space available and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Coffee and biscuits in the park

Every second Friday of the month from 10.30 to 12.00 there will be endless coffee/tea and biscuits in the cafe in Kings Heath Park for our members at a cost of £3 each.


The Next Few Monthly Meetings

Wed July 20th

We will be holding our first post pandemic meeting in the Irish Centre on Wheelers Lane, B13 0ST at 2 pm until 3.30 with a bar then open until 4 pm.

This will be an opportunity to meet up with friends, make new ones and meet the new committee.

Wed Aug 17th 

This second meeting since the end of Covid restrictions is also primarily a social event. 

Wed Oct 19th

Talk from Kay Starkey about Midlands Air Ambulance.

Wed Nov 16th

A talk by Helen Barlow on The Dogs Trust.

Wed Dec 21st

This is planned to be a Christmas social event and could possibly include A Christmas quiz, a performance by the choir or the Ukulele group (to be confirmed) or Christmas poems.

A talk by Mary Bodfish: ‘Beer, Bets, Bullbaiting’.
